Rebate Cardholders: How the New Platinum Card Changes Affect You

Those of you who have our Visa rebate card may have some questions on how the new Platinum card affects you. We want to answer your questions and be transparent about the changes – so here we go.

What’s the biggest change for me?

The biggest change is that we've combined the rebate and rewards program to offer a flexible new card. The Platinum Visa card is a Rewards card and Reward points can be redeemed for merchandise and gift cards as well as cash back.

How does the cash-back benefit work?

Once you’ve accumulated the amount of points needed, you can redeem the points for cash. An added bonus is that if you have one of our debit cards on the same account as your new credit card, the points are automatically combined and you can redeem them for cash more quickly.

What is the point to cash-back structure?

Here is the current structure – please note this is subject to change:

  • 2,500 points = $25
  • 5,000 points = $50
  • 7,500 points = $75
  • 10,000 points = $100
  • 25,000 points = $250
How do I redeem the points for cash?

You’ll have two options: through Online Banking or through the Rewards website. The funds will be deposited to your WSECU checking account – or savings if you don’t have a checking account with us.

Can I set up the cash-back option automatically?

Yes – just sign in to the Visa Rewards website to set it up. You can choose between a statement credit or a deposit into your account.
