Our annual Community Shred & Share is one of our most popular events and we know you and those in our communities look forward to it every year. We're happy to host this event for you to shred old documents safely at no charge and we're very appreciative of the donations you bring in support of our community partners.  Here's an overview of visitors, donations and an idea of the amount of documents received for shredding per location:

Chehalis - Community Partner: Lewis County Food Bank Coalition

  • 340 lbs. of food donated
  • $48 in cash donations
  • 2,939 lbs. of shredded documents
  • 90 cars

Everett - Community Partner: Everett Food Bank

  • 1,126 lbs. of food donated
  • $490.00 in cash donations
  • 7,504 lbs. of shredded documents
  • 230 cars & 30 walk-ups

Federal Way - Community Partner: Federal Way Multi-Service Center

  • 555 lbs. of food donated
  • $116.00 in cash donations
  • 4,309 lbs. of shredded documents

Lakewood - Community Partner: FISH Food Bank

  • 1,135 lbs. of food donated
  • $417.00 in cash donations

Medical Lake - Community Partner: Medical Lake Food Bank

Yakima - Community Partner: Northwest Harvest Food Bank

  • $500.00 in cash donations
  • 5,962 lbs. of shredded documents
  • 112 cars

Thanks to all of you, WSECU received a Shred-it Environmental Award for shredding a total of 70,353 lbs (35 tons!), which saves:

  • 598 trees
  • 106 cubic yards of landfill
  • 70 barrels of oil
  • 246,236 gallons of water

Not bad, right?
