With the summer months approaching, this time of the year always reminds me of my youth and all the great family vacations we would go on. We would start thinking of our trip early in the year and go to the local travel agency to help us with the planning. The travel agent would give us brochures and make recommendations on where we should have our next adventure. We would go home and pick the place we wanted to go, and then go back to the agent and discuss our flight options and hotel choices. After that discussion, they would book the travel for us and several weeks later we could go back into the travel agent's office for our tickets and hotel confirmation.

Now I have a family of my own and when we plan the trip, we don't go to the local travel agent anymore. We go online do our research and then book the travels ourselves. We are able to do our research and book the details of our trip in one sitting.

With the change in the travel industry to a digital format, it makes me think of the change in the insurance industry. In the past when I needed auto insurance, I would take an entire afternoon and call around to the various insurance agents in town to get a quote on my car. They would gather my information, take a couple of days to run the numbers and then follow up with me with their quote. I would then have to drive down to the agency to meet with the agent, have pictures taken of my car and sign the paperwork.

With WSECU Insurance Services you can now do that entire process online. When you go to our insurance services website, you enter your information regarding your vehicle and driving record and then you are able to get a price comparison from various insurance companies. If you decide the insurance is a good fit for you, then an agent will contact you and set you up with your new policy. Whole process shouldn't take more than an hour. If you are the type who would rather talk to an agent, you can call 855.811.5331 and one of our professionals will be able to help you with any insurance question you have.

Oh by the important reason to compare insurance rates is the savings that you could receive. Right now, members on average are saving over $500 a year by shopping and comparing their insurance coverage. So see if you can get some savings that you could use for a family vacation or whatever other adventures you have planned for this summer.
