WSECU Named to Forbes Best-In-State Credit Unions List for Fifth Consecutive Year
Aug. 15, 2025 (Olympia, Wash.) – WSECU has been named a top credit union in Washington state on the Forbes Best-in-State Credit Unions list for 2025, the fifth consecutive year it has earned a place on the prestigious list. WSECU is the only credit union to land on the list all five years the list has been published.
“Credit unions are such a powerful assets to the communities they serve and we are honored to be on the list for five years running,” said Ann Flannigan, VP of Public Relations at WSECU. “We’re proud to stand beside our peer credit unions as we work together toward a common goal – taking care of members and lending a hand in our communities.
Flannigan added that consumers have many exceptional credit union options for their banking and the Forbes list is a guide to find a not-for-profit cooperative in their community.
“We know our peer credit unions work hard for their members like we do, so to have our members call out their satisfaction and recognize WSECU year after year is humbling and only continues to reinforce the work we’re doing,” Flannigan said.
The not-for-profit cooperative was recognized by its members and communities to earn a place on the list. Forbes and Statista Inc. identified Best-In-State Credit Unions 2025 based on an independent survey of approximately 26,000 US consumers who were asked to rate financial institutions they know through experiences of friends and family. Responses regarding customer service, the quality of the financial advice representatives offer, whether fees are transparent and reasonable, ease of navigating the company website, on-location branch services and the overall level of trust the companies inspired. This year’s assessments also included online reviews and ratings between February 2022 and March 2025, accounting for 20% of the total scoring for each institution. Nationally, 222 credit unions were recognized in the list.
WSECU celebrated 68 years of helping members achieve greater financial wellness last July. Since its beginning in 1957, the credit union has grown to over $5 billion in assets and serves more than 300,000 members through its 24 branches, the Contact Center and digital channels.
