WSECU now offers personalized Medicare guidance

New partnership with Silvur adds value to credit union membership

Oct. 14, 2025 (Olympia, Wash.) – It’s a milestone that can bring a lot of questions and stress: when it’s time to enroll in Medicare, what options are available and best for each individual’s unique health care needs? Now, Medicare enrollment guidance is available to WSECU members for free through a new partnership with Silvur Insurance.

WSECU’s program offers personalized assistance via experienced insurance agents trained to help members find plans and help with enrollment for no charge year-round in credit union branches, by phone or online. This removes the burden on the member to have to stay up-to-date on changing regulations, deadlines or program details.

“Navigating Medicare plans and finding coverage can be tricky, but it’s an important step in protecting not only your health but also your finances as you enter retirement,” said Todd Shobert, Vice President of Investments and Insurance at WSECU. “We know this is a confusing and stressful time for folks, so we’re excited to partner with Silvur to help our members navigate this process with free resources like consultations and information.”

In addition to finding first-time coverage or offering guidance to WSECU members enrolling in Medicare, agents can review members’ existing plans to find cost savings or coverage improvements, based on what the member needs, Shobert said.

In the first month since the program’s inception, members made over 400 appointments.

When developing the complimentary guidance service, WSECU was intentional about offering a range of methods to connect with expert support whether in person, online or by phone. There are also multiple plans available to meet different budgets and different health needs. For members seeking information and guidance only, there is no obligation to enroll.

Medicare, federal health insurance for people who are 65 or older, has an annual open enrollment period that begins on Oct. 15, 2025 and runs through Dec. 7, 2025.
