WSECU’s Giving Tuesday efforts delivered sweet and salty salutes to nonprofit employees
Dec. 4, 2025 (Olympia, Wash.) – This Giving Tuesday, WSECU turned its attention to the hardworking people who give back to the community and often go uncelebrated for their work – nonprofit employees.
The credit union had each of its 25 branches across Washington select a community partner and surprise them with a delivery of an elaborate box of treats on Giving Tuesday to recognize the team behind each nonprofit’s mission and work. Credit union employees delivered 10 additional gift boxes to other organizations to expand the effort’s reach.
“This Giving Tuesday we wanted to put the spotlight on employees at nonprofit organizations across the state,” said Ann Flannigan, WSECU’s VP of Public Relations. “These are purpose-driven people who contribute so much to help our communities, often with little resources and even smaller recognition for their contributions. It’s the folks behind the scenes that we wanted to thank for their work.
Flannigan added that 2025 has been a difficult year for many nonprofit organizations with funding and grant reductions at federal and other levels. The recipients were largely providers of human services, food resources, shelter and other basic needs-focused organizations.
In addition to this Giving Tuesday effort, WSECU donates four percent of its annual net income to invest into the communities it serves, supporting more than 75 nonprofit organizations each year with sponsorships and grants.
