WSECU Promotes Briana Mickelson to VP of Member Experience

July 7, 2020 (Olympia, Wash.) – WSECU announced today that Briana Mickelson has been promoted to Vice President of Member Experience. In the role, Mickelson oversees a team that continues to improve members’ experience with WSECU by making changes and enhancements based on member needs.
Mickelson’s 10-year tenure with WSECU began in the Contact Center, where she helped members with a range of needs by phone. That experience helped shape her understanding of what members want from their financial institution and how they want to communicate. Most recently, Mickelson worked as the Director of the Contact Center, where she led her team to renovate onboarding and training to better focus on member needs.
“We completely changed our onboarding process and training to focus on the critical soft skills required when helping members with delicate topics like money,” Mickelson said. “We also built a high-functioning leadership team that is able to adapt to changes, challenges and surprises that the Contact Center works through on a daily basis.”
Mickelson said she is proud to work for an organization that values the success of both its members and its employees.
In her new role, Mickelson said she hopes to help support WSECU members’ financial well-being by continuing to improve the credit union’s understanding of the financial journey members are on.
“We want to identify what is working and what we can improve so members can feel empowered and confident in both their financial planning and their credit union.”
Mickelson has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and international business from Oregon State University, graduated with honors from Western CUNA Management School and is a current Filene i3 participant.
