Washington sports fans have more to cheer about

May 5, 2026 (Olympia, Wash.) – Washington-based credit union WSECU wants to give local sports fans more to cheer about. Coming off two exciting seasons for Seattle professional sports teams, broadcast icons Rick Rizzs and Steve Raible are voices most fans recognize in an instant, but until the start of the 2026 baseball season, the two had never worked together. The pair partnered up for the first time ever, putting their trust in WSECU for a promotional effort featuring the credit union.

The result is two Seattle-area legends joking and chatting together about their own teams’ legacies alongside a legacy of great financial services from WSECU. The ad series showcases the pair with their broadcasting headsets covering topics like cash back checking accounts and WSECU’s five-year streak on the Forbes Best Credit Unions list for Washington state.

“As AI-generated content continues to rise, consumers are craving authenticity,” said ReBecca Looney, Senior Marketing Executive for Bonneville Media. “This makes the combination of sports marketing and influencer messaging even more powerful.”

Along with ads featuring these legendary voices, Mariners fans have even more to cheer about with WSECU’s Walks in the Park program, making a $200 donation to the Washington State Parks Foundation for every Mariners home walk.

At a time when parks funding faces cuts, the promotion has already inspired thousands across social media, following an unusually high number of walks in the recent game series between the Mariners and the Astros, with Mariners walking to take a base 27 times across four games. As of May 5, the donation is already up to $17,600 after 88 total home walks.

Elizabeth Nuss, Senior Manager for Brand with WSECU’s marketing department, said sports partnerships reflect WSECU’s belief in the power of community storytelling. By amplifying the voices of teams, fans and communities across the state, the credit union helps connect people through shared moments while supporting the public places and experiences that make Washington so special.

“At the end of the day, we’re fans of these teams and we’re fans of this state,” Nuss said. “When all of this comes together, it creates something we’re proud to stand behind as WSECU and something everyone can cheer about.”
