WSECU Welcomes Ellensburg Heritage Bank Customers, Moves Branch
August 28, 2022 (Ellensburg, Wash.) – WSECU announced its acquisition of the Heritage Bank branch in Ellensburg, bringing about 600 new members into the credit union’s membership and a new location for its Ellensburg branch. The bank-turned-credit union branch is located at 100 N Main St in Ellensburg. It will close temporarily for remodeling on Sept. 9 before re-opening as WSECU on Sept. 18.
As part of the transition, the credit union will close its existing branch in Munson Hall at Central Washington University, combining the two staffs into one location downtown. An ATM will remain at Munson Hall for member service.
The remodeled branch is a more central location with easy freeway access, plenty of parking and a drive-thru service lane, among other new services for members in the area.
“The bank branch in Ellensburg helps us grow in a region we are already committed to,” WSECU Vice President of Public Relations Ann Flannigan said. “This acquisition was a way for us to provide enhanced service for our members in the area while expanding our presence in central Washington.”
Existing Heritage Bank employees at the location have all been offered employment in the transition, so the credit union’s newest members will still get service from the people they know and trust.
“Ellensburg is a thriving, diverse community, and we are invested in it for the long term,” Flannigan said. “We support several non-profits in the area and especially love our relationship with the staff, faculty and students at Central Washington University.”
