Community Involvement

We do more when we do it together

We believe a strong community is one where individuals can achieve financial stability, well-being and success. WSECU supports that vision by investing in nonprofit programs that increase access to high-quality education and that help people to become stable and self-sufficient. We also sponsor programs and events for our public employees and contribute to the enhancement of public amenities.

Pillars of Giving

Out and About

We love to be out and about in our communities, hanging out with our members and neighbors and helping out wherever we can. Whether it’s participating in local college events, hosting our annual statewide Shred Day, holding our Annual and Town Meetings, leading financial wellness workshops or a host of other great causes, you’ll usually find us right in the thick of it all.

We consider sponsorship requests for non-profit organizations and events that align with our pillars.

 Proud graduates

Since 2004, it has been our pleasure to award nearly $650,000 in scholarships for two-year and four-year higher education expenses. WSECU members are welcome to apply regardless of age and we accept applications from December to February each year. Check back closer to December for more information. In the meantime, you can learn more about our scholarship program and meet our latest round of recipients.

Tell Me More

Our employees have pitched in to volunteer in our communities on their own time for many years. In 2014, we launched our employee volunteer program that provides paid time for staff to volunteer at a variety of local venues. In 2016, we had 79% employee participation. Several of our departments and branches also hit the 100% participation mark. We're so proud of our phenomenal team!
