When it comes to supporting our communities, we’re all in. We believe that by joining together we can do more together – for our members and for our neighbors. That’s why we invest a portion of our earnings back into our communities to make them better and stronger.
Our employees have pitched in to volunteer in our communities on their own time for many years. In 2014, we launched our employee volunteer program that provides paid time for staff to volunteer at a variety of local venues. Since program launch, we’ve had 52% participation (which is phenomenal for a first-year effort) with several of our departments and branches hitting 100% participation. Nice work, team!
We consider requests for non-profit community organizations and events that align with our pillars.
We love to be out and about in our communities, hanging out with our members and neighbors and helping out wherever we can. Whether it’s participating in local college events, hosting our annual statewide Shred Day, holding our Annual and Town Meetings, leading financial wellness workshops or a host of other great causes, you’ll usually find us right in the thick of it all.
Since 2004, it has been our pleasure to award nearly $650,000 in scholarships for two-year and four-year higher education expenses. WSECU members are welcome to apply regardless of age and we accept applications from December to February each year. Check back closer to December for more information.
