Important Changes Now in Effect
- The name has changed from Overdraft Privilege to Courtesy Pay
- You can view your limit any time in Online Banking
- Your limit is now more consistent with the potential to change only once a month rather than once a day
Courtesy Pay is automatically provided to cover outstanding checks, in-person withdrawals, return deposit items and electronic transactions as long as you maintain qualifying deposits. You can also opt in to allow Courtesy Pay to cover your ATM and everyday debit card transactions.
How it works
If your account doesn't have enough money to cover a transaction and no other overdraft protection options (e.g., savings account, Personal Line of Credit or Visa line of credit) are available, Courtesy Pay kicks in. Transactions that would have been declined will be allowed to clear up to your established limit. A $27.00 fee will be charged each time we pay an overdraft with Courtesy Pay. There is a daily cap of five (5) fees charged. If the overdrawn account balance is less than $3.00, no fee will be charged.
Give us a call, sign in to Online Banking or visit a branch to opt in or change your preferences.
We determine your limit by considering the length of time you've had your account with us as well as the deposits you've made to your checking account in the past two months.
How to request it
Courtesy Pay is automatic for checks and electronic payments. You must opt in for ATM and everyday debit card transactions.

WSECU pays overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined. See our Courtesy Pay Policy for full details.
